Flora Olympia Nagano |
|---|
This wall hanging is the result of a guild challenge in the winter of 1998.
Each participant brought 3 complementary fat quarters in a brown bag
and took home an unknown. No limit on how many fabrics you could add
or constraints in what to do. I added 11 more fabrics to the 2 rose florals
and medium rose solid I received. The design is original and features 3-D piecing techniques for the dark rose petals with free floaters on top of them, which were gathered down their midline. All work done by hand. The only applique is the stem and leaves. The name comes from the fact that I designed and pieced the center portion while watching the Olympics on TV. Size 36" by 36" |
