Kevin's Quilt

It was the first example of what I call "comfoquilts". The top was pieced and quilted to a batting (no backing fabric); the backing was a whole cloth quilt, also quilted to a batting. The two pieces were then layered and tied.

The bears dressed in the clothing of various professions was a continuation of a theme from his infancy. The design was my own. The solid patches contain quilted letters of the alphabet. The blue border was quilted with various toys.

The quilt was made in Spring 1993 -- hand pieced and hand quilted.
