Treasurer’s Report: Dues collected in January totaled $20.00. The treasury has a balance of $106.55. Many thanks to our hosts Bob and Sue for their hospitality – and for the wonderful barbecued chicken! As far as your secretary is concerned, the meeting started as Bob and Susan rushed in moments before the Kentucky Derby started. Something about having to be at a Commencement ceremony where some of the speakers went off script. As usual, the club had a Great Derby – everyone cheered as the horses crossed the finish line and we had lots of big winners. Karen and Tom walked away with $23 and Shirley garnered $20. The Partch’s won $15, Buckley won $10 and Sue came away with $9 on Not So Macho Man. The only thing on the agenda of the business meeting was, of course, when is the next party (oops – I mean meeting). After some discussion, it was determined that we will meet on Saturday, July 23 at Dick and Joanne Partch’s for a Lamb Roast. (I can almost taste it already.) The plan is to show up at 2:30 and eat at 4. We are ordering a beautiful warm summer day. Should we schedule Double Axel?? Since we are having a lamb roast, and the treasury stands at under $100 after reimbursing Bob and Sue for the Derby Day chicken, there was some resurrection of the question of dues. We decided that we will defer any decisions - see what status is in July and do what needs to be done! Since no one had any additional business, we adjourned. Respectfully P.S. Someone noted that the minutes of the December meeting were too long – well, this set may take the award for the shortest minutes ?!! |
