This statue of Leifur Eiríksson was given to Iceland in 1930. On the 1000th anniversary of the founding of Iceland's Parliament. The longest continuously operating government body in the world. [dwb]

The Pearl. Most of Reykjavík is heated by geothermal water. The water is stored in these tanks for controlled pressure distribution over the city. The dome contains a revolving restaurant.
